Current Team Members

Isabeau Andrews is the co-Lead Editor of PLAT 13 and a Master of Architecture candidate at Rice University. In 2022, she graduated with Distinction with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. Recently, she completed an internship with Arch11 in Denver, CO. She has volunteered with NIVAS Built, which focuses on providing earthquake-resilient housing to marginalized groups in Nepal, and Engineers Without Borders. Her interests include the intersection between architecture and society, focusing on the merger between policy and design as a tool for community change.

Andy Entis is the co-Lead Editor of PLAT 13. He is a Master of Architecture candidate at Rice University, originally from northern Virginia. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with a Minor in Urban Design at Washington University in St. Louis. He recently completed an internship at Page/ Architects in Washington, D.C., working on the behavioral healthcare team. He is interested in the connection between architecture, urbanism, and social-political issues including energy and housing policy.

Alice Bian is the Design Director for PLAT 13. She is an undergraduate student at Rice University pursuing Architecture and Studio Arts. She recently interned at BRAVE / Architecture in Houston, TX in 2023. In the summer of 2024, she is planning to travel to Tokyo and Nagasaki with her teammates for the Mary Ellen Hale Lovette Traveling Fellowship, as well as studying open ditches in Houston for the Rice Design Alliance Houston Research Grant. While she is currently studying in Houston, Alice has moved between China and the United States and currently lives in Phoenix, AZ.  

Sean Choi is a Social Media Manager for PLAT 13 and a Bachelor of Architecture candidate at Rice University, originally from Seoul. His work intricately weaves photography and writing as demonstrated in his research on the vernacular architecture of rural Korea, photographic essays on the Tuscan landscape, and leadership in two student-led publications based in London and Jeju. Sean's recent endeavors pivot towards the innovative process of integrating renovation with the futuristic realm of mixed reality.

Nate Ehrlich is the Development Director for PLAT 13 and a Master of Architecture candidate at Rice University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Minnesota in 2018. His research initiatives involve an exhibition on Dutch Complex Housing showcased across North America, Europe, and Asia. Formerly an Associate at SALA Architects in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he primarily contributed to single-family residential projects that achieved various awards. His volunteer endeavors encompass the construction of the Aardvark Art Shed in Saint Paul’s Western Sculpture Park, Minnesota, a project featured in the May/June 2020 issue of Sculpture Magazine.

Andrea Gomez is a Designer for PLAT 13 and a Bachelor of Architecture candidate at Rice University. She recently completed a year-long internship at WEISS/MANFREDI Architecture/Landscape/Urbanism in New York City. She was a 2021 NOMA Foundation Fellow and worked for LS3P, concentrating her research on affordable housing in the southeast of the United States. Andrea was born in Lima, Peru, and raised in Santiago, Chile.

Zhuoping (Annie) Hu is a Designer for PLAT 13 and a master of architecture candidate at Rice University. Originally from China, she grew up in Botswana. Annie graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. She recently completed an internship at Sharkitects in Shanghai, China. Currently, her research focuses on exploring the impact of architectural design on spatial cognition, as well as the intersecting influences of environmental behavior on social psychology and architecture.

Saraí Huamán is the Lead Copy Editor and Editorial Advisor for PLAT 13. She is a Bachelor of Architecture candidate at Rice University with a double minor in sociology and environmental studies. She was born and raised in Lima, Peru; and is based in the United States. Her design, theory, and writing interests include the interfaces and intersections of the social realm between architecture and urbanism. She is a 2023-2024 Community Bridges Fellow at the Kinder Institute for Urban Research, collaborating with nonprofit LINK Houston as an Architecture Intern.

Max Stith is the Managing Editor for PLAT 13 and a Bachelor of Architecture candidate at Rice University. His interests lie in fabrication and ecology. He was born in Houston, Texas, and has worked as a bike mechanic and canoe guide. 

Hanan Traiba is a Social Media Manager for PLAT 13 and a Master of Architecture candidate at Rice University. Originally from Boston, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Justice Studies from Wellesley College. Prior to pursuing a degree in architecture, Hanan worked as a paralegal for the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office in their Civil Rights and Neighborhood Renewal Division.

Sophie Valbrune is on the Design Team for PLAT 13 and is an undergraduate student at Rice University pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture with a Minor in Business. Originally from Washington, D.C., she most recently completed an externship at Kendall Heaton Associates Inc. and internships for China Folk House Retreat and Grizform Design Architects. She is interested in language learning, urbanism, and cultural integration in architecture.

Alexis Winarske is a Copy Editor of PLAT 13 and a Master of Architecture candidate at Rice University. She graduated with distinction in Architectural Studies from the University of California Los Angeles. She was most recently a design researcher for UCLA’s cityLAB, where her research focused on how adaptive reuse can address the needs for student housing within the Los Angeles area. Her design and theory interests are centered around spatial justice and the intersection of civic engagement.
